Tibbies On The Go!!!Tibetan Spaniels often enjoy traveling and riding in a car.They are usually very social and enjoy attention from strangers. Working as a counselor in various positions has allowed me to occasionally take my Tibbies to work with me. One of the first things you need to do is purchase a “Sherpa” bag and allow your Tibbie time to become accustomed to riding in it. After “growing up” in one, they will often jump in them when they hear my keys jingle and being in one as a very young puppy helps with crate training later on. In these pictures, Pinkee rests in one at her first dog show. The mesh sides allow her to see everything that is going on and still be safely confined. “Sherpa” bags are also good to use when you are first introducing puppies to a busy environments like nursing homes or football games. Most of them have a shoulder strap and they resemble a sports bag when viewed from a distance. 
The first trip all the way to the water did not go all that well. Spiderman walked up to a pile of seaweed, sniffed it and immediately began rolling on it. Standing up with his coat smeared with green and looking for another delightful pile of it, he was immediately taken back and placed in an ex-pen to wait for a quick shampoo before re-entering my sister in laws home. School Carnival October 2004While I was working as a high shool counselor, the Tibbie puppies and the Seniors coordinated a booth at the October Fall Festival. For a ticket, chirldren of all ages got a sticker for their shirt proclaiming "Hugs Not Drugs" and were allowed to "hug" a puppy for several minutes. The only difficulty we experienced was whining puppies if the hugs line lulled and no one was available to hold them. Nationals 2005Nike, DeeDee and two Wish puppies went from Waco, Texas to the 2005 Tibbie National in Albuqueque with Paula Hoover and Sarah Perkins. It was a well organized National and a great vacation for all of us! |
