Grooming a TibbieTibetan Spaniels have a "double" coat which means that it is made up of two types of hair: the which is soft and cottony and the guard hairs which have a courser texture and are generally longer. The most important thing when bathing and grooming a Tibbie is to separate the hair DOWN TO THE SKIN both when rinsing away shampoo and when brushing out the coat. It it has been ove a month since your Tibbie was last bathed, you will need to use the slicker brush to remove some of the dead hair and debris in the coat before beginning the bath. Part the hair ad make sure that you are able to see down to the skin, removing any mats that block the way. |
